Eat Donuts and Lose Weight….(is it possible?)

Posted on by

Everyone loves a good donut.

For me it’s the glazed donut from Krispy Kreme.  YUM!!!

I get excited just thinking about it.

I can literally eat a dozen by myself.

The problem is, that Krispy Kreme donut doesn’t love me as much as I love it.

Though delicious it may be, that little donut is also full of fat, sugar, and has very little nutritional value.

Even still, you can indeed lose weight by eating nothing but donuts.

Let’s dig in a little deeper…..

Let’s say the average person, be it a man or woman, needs around 2000 calories per day just to live.

Let’s also say that their favorite donut has 200 calories.

In theory, this individual could eat 10 donuts a day and not gain any weight.

This is because the number of calories being consumed is the exact same number of calories being expended.

In other words, the energy in is equal to the energy out.

As a result the individual will not gain or lose any weight.

They can just eat their 10 donuts a day and be happy…..(for now of course)

In order to lose weight all you would need to do is decrease the number of donuts you eat on a daily basis.

So instead of eating 10 donuts per day, start eating 8.

This 400 calorie drop will put you in a caloric deficit which will ultimately lead to you losing weight.

But….as previously stated, donuts have very little nutritional value.

So while you may be losing weight, you may also be causing great damage to your health.

Here’s the lesson in all of this…..

You don’t have to starve yourself or cut out all your favorite foods to lose weight.

You can literally eat whatever you want.

The key however is balance.

It’s okay to have a donut every now and then.

Heck, you can have one everyday if you like.

The problem is when donuts become your main go to meal for every meal.

That’s not healthy and it’s not in your best interest.

If you need help coming up with a meal plan that leads to permanent fat loss and includes your favorite foods with every meal, take this short quiz now.
