If you are new to the keto diet you are bound to make a few mistakes. This is normal and nothing to beat yourself up about.
My goal with this post is to highlight some of the most common keto diet mistakes so you can be aware of them, and most importantly, prepare for them.
Mistake #1 – Eating Too Many Carbs
Keep in mind the keto diet is a low carb diet. That means you want to keep your carbs relatively low.
While everyone is different, generally speaking you should keep your carbs below 50g per day. Even still that’s a bit high.
But as long as you don’t go over 50g of carbs per day you should be fine.

Mistake #2 – Eating Too Much Protein
While protein is an important part of the keto diet, you don’t want to overdo it. Keep your protein consumption fairly moderate.
Mistake #3 – Not Eating Enough Fat
When you are following the keto diet, fats are your friend.
For some people, eating so much fat can seem a bit excessive. However, fat is the key to the keto diet.
The key is to make sure you are eating the right kind of fats. That is how you will get the amazing results the keto diet provides.
